CS. Lewis once said:  with the exception of the equator, everything has a beginning and an end.

If you’re like me, you enjoy traveling.  I used to be a long haul truck driver and the best part of that job was traveling around the country, meeting new people and seeing all the sights.  It was something different every day and that was one of the things that drew me to that kind of lifestyle.  I would wake up each morning knowing that a different adventure awaited.

There were people that asked how could I stand the long hours and endless highways, didn’t it get boring and lonely?  The answer is yes it did…sometimes.

The Christian life can get boring and even lonely…sometime, but it’s also an adventure.  You can wake up each morning knowing that a new adventure can be just around the corner.

I know that people who are not Christians look at many Christians and wonder how we can stand to live such a rigid and self abasing lifestyle.  You’ve been hanging out with the wrong kind of Christians.

Jesus said that he came to give us life…more abundantly.  We were meant to live full, exciting, fulfilling lives and to enjoy every second of it…if we aren’t enjoying our lives then we aren’t living the life that Jesus died for.

Every journey has to begin somewhere.

The Israelite,s journey to the promised land began when God called Abraham to leave his fathers home and go to a place he would reveal later.

King David’s journey to the throne of Israel began when God called him out of the shepherding business to go and live in Saul’s palace.

The disciples journey began when Jesus called them from their normal, mundane lives of fishing to become fishers of men.

I’m starting a short series called The Journey, the Christian experience and I would like to invite all of you that read my blog to join me on this journey as we explore what it means to be a Christian and follow Christ.  It’s going to be interesting, eye-opening and exciting so please join me in the following weeks as we learn to follow Christ together.

Did You Know

As a blogger and follower of new trends in media and technology, I found this video to be very interesting. The world is changing faster than most of us can keep up with and as Christians we need to learn how to use technology to reach the world with the Gospel of Christ.

Artist Statement

I think of art as physical manifestations of vibrations of the soul. My current body of work is a reflection on the essence of desert. For the past 15 years my primary residence has been in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona and during this time period I have assimilated the various phenomena of the desert into my work. The desert is a source of spiritual sustenance for me and I find that the grand simplicity of it speaks to the primordial cord within me. Some of the sculptural vessels are quiet and meditative while others are bold and direct and sometimes make reference to the sensual and erotic.
